Disclaimer for 2010 Census.gov Take 10 Map Page Are You a Government or Tribal Official? Join the challenge to increase your community's Mail back participation rate from 2000 and to help ensure your community receives federal funding. Access our electronic toolkit (see: http://2010.census.gov/partners/toolkits/toolkits-take10.php) to find ideas to inspire people to have a voice in their future with the 2010 Census. Please note, because this is a tool primarily intended for tribal, local and state officials, only participation rates for counties, incorporated places, and the census tracts within them, will be displayed. Not all locations viewable on this map can be found in Census Bureau data products. *Currently the Reservation View on the "Take 10 Map" is experiencing limitations in displaying participation rates. Please note that the displayed participation rates are understated. The Census Bureau is working to overcome these limitations. For the American Indian Reservation Areas, the participation rate reflects questionnaire responses from our **Mail Out/Mail Back and **Update Leave enumeration operations only. Please note that some American Indian Reservation Areas fall under the **Update/Enumerate operation (that does not reflect participation rate data) and that there are American Indian Reservation Areas enumerated with a combination of Update/Enumerate and Update/Leave methods. **Enumeration definitions: Mail Out/Mail Back Operation - A census operation where most households (approximately 130 million) in the United States will be mailed a census questionnaire by the U.S. Postal Service. Household respondents will be asked to fill out the questionnaires and mail them back to data capture centers. Delivery of initial questionnaires by the USPS occurred the week of March 15, 2010 Update/Leave Operation - A census operation where census workers update paper versions of Census address lists and maps and leave questionnaires at housing units in mainly rural areas without street names and/or house numbers. Household respondents are expected to fill out the questionnaires and mail them to data capture centers. This operation occurred from 3/1/10 to 3/26/10. Update Enumerate Operation - A method of data collection conducted in communities with special enumeration needs and where mailing addresses of many housing units do not contain house numbers and/or street names. The enumeration areas targeted by Update Enumerate include American Indian reservations, resorts (seasonal vacants), and the Colonias (small incorporated communities along the Texas/Mexico border). This operation occurs from 3/22/10 ? 5/29/10.
